{"id":87,"date":"2012-12-11T01:47:00","date_gmt":"2012-12-11T07:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caregiversunitedotorg.wordpress.com\/2012\/12\/11\/is-hospice-right-for-you"},"modified":"2012-12-11T01:47:00","modified_gmt":"2012-12-11T07:47:00","slug":"is-hospice-right-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.caregiversunite.org\/?p=87","title":{"rendered":"Is hospice right for you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we qualified for hospice.\u00a0 We had to drop hospice three months ago when we\u00a0 moved into a special care assisted living facility (SCALF).\u00a0 Since we saw my mother\u2019s doctor last week, I asked for an order to be reassessed.\u00a0 Odyssey Hospice came out and did an extensive interview with me and momma,\u00a0 gave me an overview of their services and we filled out paperwork.\u00a0 By the end of the assessment, I was given the news that we were approved.\u00a0 This means that they will provide support and care for my mother by means of medications, pullups and bed pads, and 24\/7 nursing care and all medical equipment related to the terminal illness. She will have a consistent CNA coming 3 days a week to bathe her. I can call on their social worker, enjoy spiritual care and can consult them for medical advice without leaving our facility.
